Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Idaho tend to be more challenging than the national average, so keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Rexburg, as you can see on the road map further down. If you hurry you can run this section in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so why not pack your camp     stove too. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came. This river system is full of great paddling stretches, the Riverside Campground to above Upper Mesa Falls stretch is just one of them. The nature scenery of Idaho and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Briefly about the general area: A short visit to Sheep Falls is always worthwhile. At Henrys Fork you don’t see much rain; the month with most of the rain is June, and the driest month of the year is February. For the period of the warm months at Henrys Fork temperatures are commonly   in the 70's. All through the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 40's. Throughout the winter this place gets highs in the 20's with temperatures at Henrys Fork dipping down into the 0's during winter nights.
