Idaho whitewater - Kootenai, Kootenai County

Kootenai county, Leonia to pipeline Close to Bonners Ferry section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS II     14 miles
The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so don't forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. The beautiful scenery of Idaho and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. If you hurry you can run this section in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature are great attractions for lots of people. This is the only
paddling section along Kootenai. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This section of Kootenai in Idaho is 14 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class
II section of whitewater. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are not so many other good rivers for that around here.
