Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so keep in mind that the rivers in this state are less manageable. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. The Hazard Creek to Salmon River at Riggins section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. The beautiful scenery of Idaho and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream      beats anything. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. The river winds through the Salmon River Mountains and you get great scenery. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. If you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so pack your sleeping bag. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good places for that around here. Briefly about the general area: Not much precipitation falls here at Little Salmon River; through the month of May you get the most rain around here while July is regularly the driest month. Summertime at Little Salmon River comes with high temperatures   in the 90's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's.
