Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around here. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending     some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. The scenic beauty of Idaho and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. You can enjoy this stretch more if you take your time, so why not pack your camp stove too. The beauty of the Salmon River Mountains is a great plus for this river. The Hazard Creek to Salmon River at Riggins stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so keep in mind that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. Briefly about the general area: Little Salmon River is commonly a relatively dried up place; May is the month that gets the most rain, and July is the month with the   least moisture. During the days of summer, highs frequently are in the 90's at Little Salmon River, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. Throughout the wintertime the highs are frequently in the 40's; overnight lows at Little Salmon River through the winter typically descend into the 20's.
