The wonderful Gooding/ Lincoln County scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Little Wood River are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The Silver Creek to Big Wood River section of Little Wood River is 70.4 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-III section. The starting point is not too far from Twin Falls, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all
set. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. A stretch of this length does require some preparations, so better bring your camping gear along. Little Wood River doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Silver Creek to Big Wood River section is
the only one. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this area has a pretty small number of paddling rivers.

and through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's, and night lows at Little Wood River throughout the wintertime frequently drop into the 0's. Little Wood River is a location that is rather dried up ordinarily; the wettest month of the year is usually January, that's the one that snows the most, and August on the other hand is the driest.
