The Papoose Creek to Indian Grave Creek stretch of Lochsa River in Idaho County is 20 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III section of whitewater. This is one of a small number of paddling sections in this river system, there are a few others too. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. And of     course, there are campgrounds nearby. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so pack your camp stove. When you're paddling down a Bitterroot Range river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too.
