CLASS IV 13 miles
The Indian Grave Creek to Wilderness Gateway Bridge stretch of Lochsa River in Idaho is 13 miles long and has been rated as a class IV section by American Whitewater. The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. The beautiful scenery of Idaho County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water beats anything. Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature are
great reasons to come. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that around here. This is not the only paddling stretch in this river system, there are others too. This stretch
has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so go ahead and pack your camping stuff. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Whitewater paddling here in the Clearwater Mountains is a great experience.
