  If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Idaho you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. The wonderful Camas County scenery and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream attract people from near and far. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, around here you won't find a large number of other places. The Malad Dam to confluence with Snake River section of Malad Big Wood River in Idaho is 2 miles long and is a
    class IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors will make you glad you came. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you
want to stay the night, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. This is a short paddling stretch so better bring some good walking shoes. There are no other stretches to paddle along Malad Big Wood River than the Malad Dam to confluence with Snake River stretch.

The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Florence Spring, and Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument is a great local destination. This is a really good river. A good place to have a look at near Malad Big Wood
