The wonderful Custer County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This section of Marsh Creek is 6 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. The beauty of the Sawtooth Range is a great plus for this river. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to
get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Marsh Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the State Highway 21 to Middle Fork Salmon stretch is the only one. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's perfect for a one day trip. You
can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling places. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come.
