This section of Marsh Creek is 6 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The wonderful Custer County scenery and the playfulness of the water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This is a pretty decent length section, it's good length for a morning trip. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling rivers. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance
then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Idaho you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. There are no other
stretches to paddle along Marsh Creek than the State Highway 21 to Middle Fork Salmon stretch. The beautiful Sawtooth Range scenery is an added bonus. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come.
Briefly about the general area: A normal amount of rain falls here at Marsh Creek; January is when you get the most snow here, and July on the other hand is the driest. These mountains rock, just check out all the entertaining things to do in the Sawtooth Range. Going for a hike on the Bear Valley Creek Trail
is always a great adventure. All through the warm months at Marsh Creek highs are frequently in the 80's. All through the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 40's. During the wintertime the highs are generally in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Marsh Creek. Go for a hike on the Blue Bunch Trail, and Big Hole is an out of the ordinary thing to distinguish if you're here.
