  The wonderful Custer County scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This section of Marsh Creek is 6 miles long and is a class II-III section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. The beauty of the Sawtooth Range is a great plus for this river. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to
    get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Marsh Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the State Highway 21 to Middle Fork Salmon stretch is the only one. This stretch has has enough mileage, it's perfect for a one day trip. You
can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling places. Getting a good workout and spending some quality time in nature are great reasons to come.

You definitely should fancy the Sawtooth Range. Go for a hike on the Bear Valley Creek Trail. The amount of rain that falls at Marsh Creek is close to the national average; most of the snow falls all through January while July is typically the driest month.
Don't
 
leave Marsh Creek without first going for a hike along the Blue Bunch Trail, and Big Hole is an attention-grabbing thing to catch a glimpse of while you're here. The warmest time of the year at Marsh Creek comes with high temperatures in the 80's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Marsh Creek.
