Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of places for that. The campgrounds here at Pack River are pretty good. This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside Idaho you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so keep     in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. The wonderful Idaho scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Pack River attract people from near and far. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. The West Branch Pack River to Tavern section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. Briefly about the general area: From a rainfall point of view Pack River is a relatively common place; the wettest month of the year is commonly December, that's the one that snows the most, and July meanwhile is the driest month. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Pack River with nighttime lows in the 40's. All through the winter highs are in the 20's with temperatures at Pack River dipping down into the 10's throughout winter nights.
