The average whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master in this state than those in other states, so keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Boise City-Nampa, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. Getting some good exercise and just hanging     out with mother nature have a lot of people coming here. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The nature scenery of Idaho and the water flowing gracefully down Payette River are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This stretch has has enough mileage, good for a one day paddling trip. Briefly about the general area: Payette River is a location that is rather waterless generally; November is the wettest month with most rain, and July is when it's the driest. Jerusalem Valley is a brilliant location to stop by in close proximity to Payette River.
