This section of Payette River is 6 miles long and it is classified as a class II+(III) section by American Whitewater. On this section you do get some distance, it's good length for a morning trip. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. There's camping available near Payette River. The starting location is a     reasonable drive from Boise City-Nampa, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere.
