The natural beauty of Boise County and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. This stretch is mid length, you can easily run it on an afternoon. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Idaho are harder than the national norm, so don't forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. Getting a good workout     and spending some quality time in nature will make you glad you came. If you're coming from Boise City-Nampa it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This river system is full of great paddling sections, the Banks to Beehive Bend section is just one of them. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling spots. Briefly about the general area: Summertime at Payette River comes with high temperatures in the 90's; all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's with temperatures at Payette River dipping down into the 10's during winter nights.   Payette River is a location that is reasonably dry regularly; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Near Payette River you find the Dry Buck Mountain Trail which is a good hiking trail.
