Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Idaho is often tougher than elsewhere, so better not forget that rivers here are less forgiving. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The West Fork Bridge to upstream of Trail Creek section of Payette River - Middle Fork in Valley County is 3 miles long and is a class IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the
    river for a while are great reasons to come. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good spots. There are so many sections to paddle in this river system, the West Fork Bridge to upstream of Trail Creek section is just one of
many. This section is quite short so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. When you're paddling down a Salmon River Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car.

Don't leave Payette River - Middle Fork without first going for a hike along the Sixmile Trail; there's great hiking along the One Spoon Way. Payette River - Middle Fork is mostly a rather dried out location; through the month of December you get the most snow around here while July is generally the driest month. All through the months of summer here at Payette River - Middle Fork, high temperatures usually get into the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 40's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 20's; nighttime lows in the 10's for Payette River - Middle Fork.
