The natural beauty of Idaho and the water flowing gracefully down Payette River - North Fork make the trip here worthwhile. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Idaho is often more difficult than elsewhere, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so pack your camping stuff. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots. You might have to settle for
a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This section of Payette River - North Fork in Idaho is 10.4 miles long and has been rated as a class II-IV section by American Whitewater.
A good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. The Salmon River Mountains scenery is wonderful. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The Upper Payette Lake to Big Payette Lake stretch is one of a few paddling stretches in this river system.

month of the year is ordinarily May, that's the one that rains the most, and July is the month with the least moisture. Just can't get enough of the Salmon River Mountains. There is a tremendous hiking trail in close proximity to Payette River - North Fork called the Crestline
Trail. Through the warm days of summer highs here at Payette River - North Fork get into the 90's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and nighttime lows during the winter for Payette River - North Fork tend to be in the 20's.
