  The Smiths Ferry to Banks stretch of Payette River - North Fork in Valley/ Boise County is 16 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class V section. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state are often tougher than in other states, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are less forgiving. The wild scenery of the Salmon River Mountains is great. The nature scenery of Idaho and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream attract people from near and far. You can enjoy
    this section more if you take your time, so pack your sleeping bag. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. You can pitch a tent or park your
RV at a nearby campground. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. This river system is full of great paddling stretches, the Smiths Ferry to Banks stretch is just one of them. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way there are lots of good spots for that around here.
