Headwaters to South Fork Snake River confluence section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS II-III 17.8 miles
The Headwaters to South Fork Snake River confluence stretch of Pine Creek is 17.8 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II-III section. The natural beauty of Idaho and the water flowing gracefully down Pine Creek are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This is the only paddling section along Pine Creek. This section has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so why not pack your sleeping bag too. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you'll find lots of paddling spots.
Getting your paddling muscles activated and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. The put-in location is a short drive from Jackson, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but
if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so better not forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby.
