Idaho whitewater - Potlatch River, Latah/ Nez Perce County Latah/ Nez Perce county, Cedar Creek to Kendrick section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS II-III     6 miles   The Cedar Creek to Kendrick section of Potlatch River in Latah/ Nez Perce County is 6 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-III section. The average Idaho whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be harder to run than those in other states, so don't forget that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Moscow, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. There's camping available near Potlatch River. There are some good stretches to paddle in this     river system, the Cedar Creek to Kendrick stretch is one of them. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The wonderful Latah/ Nez Perce County scenery and the playfulness of the water attract people from near and far. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are not so many other good places for that around here. This is a pretty decent length section, you can easily run it on an afternoon. Briefly about the general area: Potlatch River gets a normal amount of rainfall; most of the snow falls throughout December, and the driest month is July. All through the months of summer, highs regularly are in the 80's at Potlatch River, and   during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's while the cold winter nights at Potlatch River are in the 20's.
