  The Headwaters to Priest Lake stretch of Priest River is 28.2 miles long and it is classified as a class I-IV section by American Whitewater. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. The natural beauty of Boundary / Bonner County and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so go ahead and pack your camping stuff. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a pretty small number
    of paddling spots. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Idaho is often more difficult than elsewhere, so better not forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. A bit of exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have
a lot of people coming here.

Briefly about the general area:
The warmest time of the year at Priest River comes with high temperatures in the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's while the cold winter nights at Priest River are in the 10's.
Priest River gets a common amount of rain; the month with most of the snow is December; July is when it's the driest.
