  This stretch of Priest River is 28.2 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class I-IV section of whitewater. The nature scenery of Idaho and the water flowing gracefully down Priest River make the trip here worthwhile. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while have a lot of people coming here. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more challenging than the national average, so you'd better keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight
    trip, so why not pack your camp stove too. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with not too many other spots for that. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. There aren’t
any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby.

For the period of the warmest time of the year here at Priest River, high temperatures typically get into the 80's with nighttime lows in the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's, and after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Priest River dip into the 10's.
 
The amount of rain that falls at Priest River is close to the national average; December is the wettest month with most snow, and the driest of the months is July.
