The starting point is not too far from Coeur d'Alene, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. This stretch of Priest River in Idaho is 23 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class II-III section. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Upper Priest River to Priest River Town section is one of them. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. The beautiful scenery of Bonner County and the sparkling of the
sunlight on the water beats anything. This section has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so pack your sleeping bag. The campgrounds here at Priest River are pretty good. The average Idaho whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in
other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that a lot of the rivers here are not suitable for beginners. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick.

Through the summer months at Priest River highs are typically in the 80's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 40's.
