  The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Idaho are often tougher than in other states, so better not forget that rivers here are less forgiving. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. The nature scenery of Idaho and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water will make you feel great. There are so many stretches to paddle in this river system, the Hellroaring Creek to Redfish Lake Creek stretch is just one of many. Some people prefer
    whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way in this general area you won't find many other paddling places. This stretch of Salmon River is 12 miles long and has been rated as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip,
so pack your sleeping bag. There's camping available near Salmon River.

Briefly about the general area:
Salmon River is pretty dry commonly; most of the snow falls during December, and the driest month is July. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Bull Moose Trail.
Take a hike on the Yellow Belly Trail, and you might also want to pay a visit to Club Canyon since you're here at Salmon River. Throughout the summer, highs generally are in the 70's at Salmon River. Summer overnight lows sink down to the 30's. During the winter the highs are frequently in the 20's; through the dark hours in the winter at Salmon River temperatures fall to the-10's.
