Lemhi county, North Fork to Middle Fork section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.

CLASS III     39 miles
Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Idaho are harder than the national norm, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are less forgiving. The North Fork to Middle Fork stretch of Salmon River in Idaho is 39 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class III section of whitewater. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. You can pitch a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. A stretch this long is of course too much for a one day trip, perfect for a real wilderness adventure.
The river winds through the Bitterroot Range and you get great scenery. The wonderful Lemhi County scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Salmon River beats anything. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are not so many other good rivers
for that around here. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near.
