Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. Getting some good exercise and just being out on the river for a while will have you coming back for more. The beautiful Clearwater Mountains scenery is
an added bonus. The nature scenery of Idaho and the water flowing gracefully down Salmon River have people coming here. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. If
you hurry you can run this stretch in a day but why not make it an overnighter, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. There are a few other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. There's camping available near Salmon River.
