Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Idaho tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. There are plenty of other stretches in this river system that can be paddled as well. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The wild scenery of the Salmon River Mountains is great. This is a pretty short section so better bring some good walking shoes. Whether you're whitewater
rafting or kayaking this is an area with plenty of spots for that. Great exercise and just being out on the river for a while are sure to keep you coming back for more. This stretch of Salmon River - East Fork of South Fork is 2.5 miles long and has been rated as a class IV section
by American Whitewater. The campgrounds here at Salmon River - East Fork of South Fork are pretty good. The wonderful Idaho scenery and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle.
