Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a large number of paddling places. The wonderful Idaho scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Secesh River attract people from near and far. This stretch of Secesh River is 14.4 miles long and is a class IV-V section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. This stretch has enough mileage for an overnight trip, so pack your sleeping bag. Secesh River
doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Loon Creek to South Fork Salmon River section is the only one. Whitewater paddling here in the Salmon River Mountains is a great experience. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations
in advance you're all set. There's camping available near Secesh River. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here.

The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's; after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Secesh River sink into the 0's.
