The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Idaho are often more challenging than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. There's camping available near Selway River. A stretch of this length does require some preparations, so it looks like you will be camping out. The nature scenery of Idaho County and the playfulness of the water have people coming     here. There are no other sections to paddle along Selway River than the Paradise to Selway Falls section. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way around here you won't find a large number of other places. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Whitewater paddling here in the Clearwater Mountains is a great experience. A good workout and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 30's; after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Selway River   drop into the 20's. Selway River is a good place of normal rain; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most snow, and July on the other hand is the driest.
