This stretch of Selway River in Idaho County is 7 miles long and has been rated as a class III section by American Whitewater. Great exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great reasons to come. When you're paddling down a Clearwater Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can     camp. The wonderful Idaho scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Selway River are reasons enough to come here and paddle. The Selway Falls to Boyd Creek Campground stretch is the only paddling stretch along Selway River. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good rivers for that around here. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. This stretch has has enough mileage, good for a one day paddling trip. Briefly about the general area: During the days of summer, highs regularly are in the 80's at Selway River, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. During the winter highs are in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 20's for Selway River. A normal   amount of rainfall falls here at Selway River; the month of January is the wettest with most of the snow, and the driest month is July. So much exciting stuff to do in the Clearwater Mountains, not sufficient time. Near Selway River you stumble on Twentymile Bar which is a magnificent place to check out; no need to travel far to explore out of the ordinary stuff like Stillman Point.
