Last half mile before Middle Fork Boise River section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.
CLASS III-IV 0.5 miles
The average Idaho whitewater rafting or kayaking river tends to be a bit harder to master than those in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. This section of Sheep Creek in Boise County is 0.5 miles long and has been rated as a class III-IV section by American Whitewater. If you're coming from Mountain Home it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this
area has a large number of paddling spots. This section is very short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. The wonderful Boise County scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Sheep Creek make the trip here worthwhile. Not too many hotels nearby,
you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. Sheep Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Last half mile before Middle Fork Boise River stretch is the only one. The campgrounds here at Sheep Creek are pretty good.
