The Smith Creek Bridge to above Smith Creek Falls stretch of Smith Creek in Boundary County is 6 miles long and is according to American Whitewater a class IV-V+ section of whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. The scenic beauty of Boundary County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream attract people from near and far. On this section you do get some distance, it's
good length for a morning trip. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This is the only paddling section along Smith Creek. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are not so many other good rivers for that around here. Getting
your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors have a lot of people coming here.
Briefly about the general area: Smith Creek is a location that is pretty arid ordinarily; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is July. On a delightful day at Smith Creek you can take a hike along the Hall Mountain Trail. At Smith Creek during the summer highs are in the 80's with night lows in the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Smith Creek.
