The American Falls to Lake Walcott stretch of Snake River is 32.7 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I-III section. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive     a short distance then no problem but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. A section like this is is of course not run in a single day, perfect for a real wilderness adventure. Snake River doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the American Falls to Lake Walcott section is the only one. Briefly about the general area: At Snake River you don’t see much rainfall; through the month of May you get the most rain around here while July is generally the driest month. Through the summertime, highs ordinarily are in the 80's at Snake River, and the nighttime is a bit cooler of course, commonly in the 50's.
