CLASS I-III     16 miles
  The starting location is a short drive from Twin Falls, as you can see on the road map further down. This stretch of Snake River in Idaho is 16 miles long and has been rated as a class I-III section by American Whitewater. The wonderful Idaho scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Snake River are reasons enough to come here and paddle. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Crystal Springs to Upper Salmon Falls Res section is one of them. You might
    be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with not too many other places for that. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Whitewater
rafting and kayaking spots in Idaho are harder than the national norm, so don't forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby.

Snake River gets very little precipitation; during November this area sees the most rain, and the driest month of the year is July.
The warmest time of the year at Snake River comes with high temperatures in the 90's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Snake River.
