The starting location is a short drive from Twin Falls, as you can see on the road map further down. This stretch of Snake River in Idaho is 16 miles long and has been rated as a class I-III section by American Whitewater. The wonderful Idaho scenery and the water flowing gracefully down Snake River are reasons enough to come here and paddle. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. This river system has a few good paddling stretches and the Crystal Springs to Upper Salmon Falls Res section is one of them. You might
be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with not too many other places for that. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Whitewater
rafting and kayaking spots in Idaho are harder than the national norm, so don't forget that lots of rivers here are not for beginners. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so go ahead and pack your sleeping bag. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby.
