This stretch of Snake River is 6 miles long and is a class I-II section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Idaho are often more challenging than in other states, so you'd better keep in mind that rivers here are less forgiving. The Hagerman to Bliss section is one of a few paddling sections in this river system. This stretch has has enough mileage, you can easily run it on an afternoon. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is
a very popular destination. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way in this general area you won't find many other paddling places. Getting some good exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will make you glad you came.
The natural beauty of Idaho and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. The campgrounds here at Snake River are pretty good.
Briefly about the general area: Snake River is frequently a quite dried up site; November is when you get the most rain here while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. If time allows, Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument is a national park worth going to. Through the months of summer at Snake River temperatures are generally in the 90's. Summer night lows
descend down to the 50's. For the period of the wintertime highs are regularly in the 30's, and night lows at Snake River during the wintertime mostly plunge into the 10's.
