If you're coming from Twin Falls it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, as you can see on the road map further down. This section of Snake River in Idaho is 13 miles long and has been rated as a class III-IV section by American Whitewater. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Idaho are often tougher than in other states, so keep in mind that many runs in this state are not easy. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. The scenic beauty of Twin Falls/ Jerome County and the cool fresh water have people coming here.
Briefly about the general area: At Snake River throughout the summertime highs are in the 90's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's with temperatures at Snake River dipping down into the 10's all through winter nights. At Snake River you don’t see much rain; November is the wettest month with most rain; July meanwhile is the driest month.
