The Upper Bridge to St. Joe Confluence section of St. Joe River - Marble Creek in Shoshone County is 13.5 miles long and is a class III-IV section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are not easy. The beautiful scenery of Idaho and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This river system has a few good paddling stretches
and the Upper Bridge to St. Joe Confluence section is one of them. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so go ahead and pack your camping stuff. Getting some good exercise and spending some quality time in nature have people coming from far and near. There are
campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are not so many other good rivers for that around here. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. When you're paddling down a Clearwater Mountains river like this one you always get great scenery along the way too.
