The natural beauty of Idaho and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream beats anything. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Idaho tend to be more challenging than the national average, so if you're not from around here don't forget that many of the rivers here are not very forgiving. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this is an area with not too many other rivers for that. This section of St. Maries River is 22.4 miles long and has been     rated as a class II-III section by American Whitewater. This section is long enough for an overnight trip if you take your time, so why not pack your camping stuff too. Whitewater paddling here in the Clearwater Mountains is a great experience. The nearby hotels are a bit away from the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. There are no other stretches to paddle along St. Maries River than the Mashburn to St. Joe River stretch. Getting your paddling muscles activated and a chance to spend some time outdoors have people coming from far and near. The campgrounds here at St. Maries River are pretty good.
