The put-in is not too far from Rexburg, as you can see on the road map further down. This section of Teton River in Idaho is 5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class IV-V section. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more challenging, so you'd better keep in mind that many of the sections here are not safe for beginners. to drive a short distance then no problem but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. On this section you do get some distance, you can easily run it
| on an afternoon. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, there are lots of good spots for that around here. The scenic beauty of Teton/ Madison/ Fremont County and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far.
Briefly about the general area:
Teton River gets very little rainfall; January is the wettest month with most snow; July on the other hand is the driest. For the duration of the summer highs here at Teton River reach the 80's while overnight lows are frequently in the 40's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 20's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Teton River temperatures drop to the 0's.
