Idaho whitewater - Warm River, Fremont County Fremont county, Twisted Draw to Warm River Campground section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS IV-V+     5 miles   The top mile of this run is a 250 ft drop through a wood choked cataract. it is so full of strainers that it looks more or less suicidal. Says Max ora Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Idaho are harder than the national norm, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that rivers here are not as easy as elsewhere. The put-in is not too far from Rexburg, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. There are many good hotels to choose from, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. Getting     a good workout and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. The nature scenery of Idaho and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream make the trip here worthwhile. This section of Warm River in Idaho is 5 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class IV-V+ section. The Twisted Draw to Warm River Campground section is the only paddling section along Warm River. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. This stretch is mid length, suitable for an afternoon trip. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a large number of paddling rivers. Briefly about the general area: Interesting geology is available here; Hole in Rocks is right next door to Warm River, and you could always   discover Twisted Draw. Warm River is mostly a rather waterless place; of all the months in a year January is the one with the most snow, and July meanwhile is the driest month. For the duration of the long summer days at Warm River highs are commonly in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's, and nighttime lows during the wintertime for Warm River tend to be in the 0's.
