The beautiful scenery of Idaho County and the cool fresh water make the trip here worthwhile. There are a few other sections in this river system that can be paddled as well. If you have the time you can make this a two day trip, so go ahead and pack your camp stove. The beauty of the Bitterroot Range is a great plus for this river. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but if you don’t have reservations     you might end up sleeping in your car. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you'll find a large number of good spots. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature have people coming from far and near. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often more difficult than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that the rivers in this state are less manageable. Through the long summer days, highs typically are in the 80's at White Sand Creek. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 40's.
