The Cedar Creek Road to Peru Bottom Road stretch of Cedar Creek in La Salle County is 5.9 miles long and it is classified as a class I-II(IV) section by American Whitewater. The wonderful La Salle County scenery and the playfulness of the water beats anything. There are some good hotels near the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. You can pitch     a tent or park your RV at a nearby campground. This stretch is mid length, suitable for an afternoon trip. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way around here you won't find a large number of other places. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while are great attractions for lots of people. Cedar Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling sections, the Cedar Creek Road to Peru Bottom Road section is the only one. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Illinois is often easier than elsewhere, so don't forget that many of the sections here are safe for beginners.
