The E.18th Road to Highway 71 stretch of Covel Creek in Illinois is 6.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II section. No need to look hard for hotels, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. This is a pretty decent length section, it's perfect for a one     day trip. The rivers for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Illinois are often easier than in other states, so if you're visiting here do keep in mind that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are not so many other good spots for that around here.
