This stretch of Fall Creek in Adams County is 2 miles long and has been rated as a class I-IV section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Illinois is often easier than elsewhere, so if you're not from around here don't forget that rivers here are less demanding. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. This section is quite short so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch.     Getting your paddling muscles activated and spending some quality time in nature will have you coming back for more. If you're coming from Quincy it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Fall Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the End of Gorge Trail to Parking Lot stretch is the only one. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking around here you won't find a large number of other spots. Briefly about the general area: During the long summer days, highs commonly are in the 80's at Fall Creek, and the night is a tad colder of course,   frequently in the 60's. Highs during the winter are frequently in the 30's, and night lows during the wintertime for Fall Creek tend to be in the 10's. Fall Creek is a good site of typical rainfall; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is January.
