The beautiful scenery of La Salle County and the cool fresh water will make you feel great. The put-in location is a reasonable drive from Ottawa-Streator, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. A good workout and spending some quality time in nature are sure to keep you coming back for more. The Troy Grove Blacktop to Little Vermilion section is the only paddling section along Tomahawk Creek. There's camping     available near Tomahawk Creek. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking in this general area you won't find many other paddling places.
