If you're coming from Lafayette it's not a long drive at all to the put-in location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. This stretch of Big Pine Creek in Indiana is 6.7 miles long and is a class II+(III) section of whitewater according to American Whitewater. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This section
is long enough to enjoy a good non stop paddle, good for a one day paddling trip. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this is an area with not too many other spots for that. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in Indiana
