Says David McGowan The natural beauty of Indiana and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This stretch of Blue River is 2.4 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class I(II) section. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, but     do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in Indiana is often easier than elsewhere, so better not forget that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. This is a somewhat short section so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. Getting a good workout and just being out on the river for a while are great reasons to come. Blue River doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the White Cloud to Blue River Chapel stretch is the only one. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking this area has a pretty small number of paddling spots. Briefly about the general area: The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Harrison Spring, and a cool spot to pop by is Devils Elbow. Through the summertime highs here at Blue River reach the 80's,   and all through the night it cools down to the 60's. During the winter the highs are ordinarily in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Blue River. Blue River gets a great deal of water; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain, and September meanwhile is the driest month.
