stretch of Flatrock River in Decatur County is 6.8 miles long and has been determined by American Whitewater to be a class I(III) section. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Old US Highway 421 to Conns Creek section is one of them. This stretch has has enough mileage, good for a one day paddling trip. There's camping available near Flatrock River. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while have  
a lot of people coming here.

Briefly about the general area:
You'll meet a lot of people from Saint Paul here. The yearly rainfall here at Flatrock River is about average. Most of the rain falls through July, and January is when it's the driest. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Flatrock River. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's with temperatures at Flatrock River dipping down into the 10's during winter nights.
