If you're coming from Bedford it's not a long drive at all to the starting location, if you're not familiar with the area there's a road map further down the page. Whitewater rafting and kayaking in this state is often easier than elsewhere, so don't forget that lots of rivers here are good for beginners. This is a bit of a short stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one
stretch. The beautiful scenery of Lawrence County and the sparkling of the sunlight on the water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. There are nice comfortable hotels here, but do book a room before
you come because it is a very popular destination. There are no other sections to paddle along Gulletts Creek than the Highway 37 to Old Highway 37 section. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors are sure to keep you coming back for more. Since you're on this site you are probably into whitewater rafting or kayaking, either way this area has a pretty small number of paddling rivers.
