The Cataract Falls section of Mill Creek is 1 miles long and it is classified as a class V section by American Whitewater. Whitewater rafting and kayaking spots in this state tend to be more forgiving than the national average, so better not forget that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. Mill Creek doesn't have a lot of paddling stretches, the Cataract Falls stretch is the only one.     Getting some good exercise and a chance to spend some time outdoors are great attractions for lots of people. The natural beauty of Owen County and the cool fresh water are in themselves reasons enough to come here to paddle. This is a very short section so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way this is an area with not too many other spots for that. For all you camping people there are campgrounds nearby. If you'll be staying in a hotel you're in luck, lodging is available very near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Briefly about the general area: Throughout the summer months at Mill Creek temperatures are regularly in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the   60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Mill Creek. All the water falling down from the sky makes Mill Creek a wet place; throughout the month of July you get the most rain around here while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. It's always nice to explore Lower Cataract Falls, and Upper Cataract Falls is a great local attraction.
