The Cataract Falls section of Mill Creek in Owen County is 1 miles long and it is classified as a class V section by American Whitewater. Some people prefer whitewater rafting and some kayaking, either way there are not so many other good places for that around here. The sections for whitewater rafting and kayaking here in Indiana are often more forgiving than in other states, so keep in mind     that a lot of the rivers here are suitable for beginners. There are no other stretches to paddle along Mill Creek than the Cataract Falls stretch. The beautiful scenery of Indiana and the cool fresh water attract people from near and far. This is a very short stretch so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. The campgrounds here at Mill Creek are pretty good. Getting a good workout and a chance to spend some time outdoors will have you coming back for more. Lodging is available near the river, but do book a room before you come because it is a very popular destination. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Mill Creek while nighttime lows are ordinarily   in the 60's. A great deal of rain falls at Mill Creek; July is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of the months is January.
