The starting point is not too far from Louisville, there's a road map further down the page with more info on that. There are some good hotels near the river, but you'd better reserve in advance because these hotels fill up quick. A good workout and just being out on the river for a while have people coming from far and near. There's camping available near Ohio River. This section of Ohio River in Clark County is 0 miles long and is according     to American Whitewater a class I(II) section of whitewater. There are some good sections to paddle in this river system, the Lower Falls of Ohio section is one of them. This is an extremely short stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. If you've been out of state whitewater rafting and kayaking you might find the rivers here more forgiving, so you'd better keep in mind that quite a few of the sections here are pretty easy. No matter if you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are lots of good spots for that around here. Briefly about the general area: For the duration of the long summer days highs here at Ohio River reach the 80's, and the overnight is fairly cooler of course, ordinarily in the 60's. Throughout the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's with winter lows   in the 20's overnight here at Ohio River. Put some time aside to spend at Falls of the Ohio if you're here at Ohio River. Ohio River gets lots of water; March is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is September.
