Indiana whitewater - Ohio River, Clark County Clark county, Upper Falls of Ohio section whitewater kayaking, rafting, and paddling information.   CLASS II(IV)     1 miles   The put-in is not too far from Louisville, as you can see on the road map further down. This section of Ohio River is 1 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II(IV) section. The wonderful Indiana scenery and the playfulness of the water have people coming here. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, this is an area with plenty of rivers for that. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. There are nice comfortable hotels here, and if you make reservations     in advance you're all set. This is one of a small number of paddling stretches in this river system, there are a few others too. This is an extremely short section so you'd better be prepared to walk your kayak back to put-in a few times. There's camping available near Ohio River. If you've been whitewater rafting and kayaking outside this state you might find the rivers here a bit more forgiving, so keep in mind that many of the sections here are safe for beginners. Briefly about the general area: Ohio River usually gets a great deal of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is March; September meanwhile is the driest month. A short journey to Falls of the Ohio is always worthwhile, and Falls of the Ohio is an inspiring site to explore while you're here. Through the warm days of summer highs here at Ohio River get   into the 80's while overnight lows are regularly in the 60's. High temperatures throughout the winter are normally in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Ohio River are in the 20's.
