The beautiful scenery of Indiana and the cool fresh water are reasons enough to come here and paddle. This section of Rattlesnake Creek is 3.5 miles long and is rated by American Whitewater as a class II(III) section. There aren’t any hotels right nearby but if you're willing to drive a short distance then no problem but if you don’t have reservations you might end up sleeping in your car. This is a pretty     short section so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. If you're a camper you can camp at one of the great campgrounds nearby. The starting location is a reasonable drive from Crawfordsville, please print out a copy of the road map further down the page so you won’t get lost. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are not so many other good spots for that around here. Great exercise and spending some quality time in nature have a lot of people coming here. Briefly about the general area: Summer brings highs in the 80's to Rattlesnake Creek, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's.
