The nature scenery of Indiana and the playfulness of the water make the trip here worthwhile. A bit of exercise and just hanging out with mother nature are great attractions for lots of people. This is a very short stretch so it's not like you're gonna spend hours on the river in one stretch. You might have to settle for a hotel a bit     away from the river if you want to stay the night, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. The Darlington stretch of Sugar Creek in Montgomery County is 1.2 miles long and it is classified as a class I-II section by American Whitewater. There are no other stretches to paddle along Sugar Creek than the Darlington stretch. And of course, there are campgrounds nearby. The put-in location is a short drive from Crawfordsville, as you can see on the road map further down. You might be into whitewater rafting or kayaking or both, doesn't matter, in this general area you won't find many other paddling rivers. Briefly about the general area: Sugar Creek gets a common amount of rain; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. For the duration   of the summertime months highs here at Sugar Creek reach the 80's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 60's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 30's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Sugar Creek plunge into the 10's.
