The scenic beauty of Martin County and the beautiful way the water current moves down the stream attract people from near and far. Whitewater rafting and kayaking     in Indiana is often easier than elsewhere, so better not forget that rivers here are less demanding. Whether you're whitewater rafting or kayaking there are not so many other good rivers for that around here. This is an extremely short section so you'll have to walk back to the start over and over. Great exercise and just hanging out with mother nature will have you coming back for more. This stretch of White River is 0.1 miles long and has been rated as a class I-II(IV) section by American Whitewater. There are campgrounds quite near the river where you can camp. Not too many hotels nearby, you'll have to drive a bit to get to one, and if you make reservations in advance you're all set. Briefly about the general area: Hindostan Falls is an inspiring site to visit during your stay. All through the summertime, highs   commonly are in the 80's at White River while nighttime lows are generally in the 60's. All through the winter highs are usually in the 30's while the cold winter nights at White River are in the 20's. White River gets a lot of water; through May this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is January.
